The 2026–2027 cold front season in Mexico will begin in September. The National Water Commission (Conagua) reported that this season will bring 56 such systems, which is six more than the average.
This season will be marked by the presence of El Niño. The agency explained that this phenomenon will intensify toward the end of the year, reaching its peak intensity between October and December.
As a result, there is expected to be “a higher probability that air masses will move toward northern and central Mexico,” as well as an increase in humid conditions, as detailed in a press release.
