Alphonse Mucha’s universe is now in Mexico City! The female figures surrounded by flowers, the ornaments, and the curved lines that made the Czech artist famous are the stars of a temporary exhibition at the Kaluz Museum, where you’ll also find an immersive experience dedicated to Art Nouveau.
The exhibition “Alphonse Mucha: The Magic of the Line” opened on October 9, 2026, and will run through February 8, 2027. It is the first exhibition dedicated to the artist in Mexico and features nearly 130 works, including posters, lithographs, illustrations, drawings, and objects.
From Art Nouveau to manga: here’s what the Alphonse Mucha exhibition in Mexico City is like

The exhibition is divided into three sections that explore the influences, career, and legacy of Mucha, one of the great representatives of Art Nouveau.
You’ll be able to see the posters he created for actress Sarah Bernhardt, his advertising work, and the Japanese influences that helped define his distinctive visual language.
But here’s one of the most interesting details: his style also left its mark on psychedelic rock, Marvel comics, and Japanese manga. The exhibition explores these connections and even features references to contemporary creators and the series *Arcane*.
A 30-minute immersive experience at the Kaluz Museum

In addition to the original works, the exhibition is complemented by “The Magic of Art Nouveau,” an immersive experience developed by the Grand Palais Immersif in Paris.
For 30 minutes, three videos and eleven monumental projections transform the walls and floor to take you on a journey through Mucha’s life and work, accompanied by an original soundtrack.
And there’s more! The museum will offer a program of free activities, including talks on manga, advertising, and psychedelic rock, as well as family workshops and a Museum Night featuring a concert.
Starting October 29, your visit can also be complemented by “The New Art: Symbolism and Art Nouveau in Mexico, ” another exhibition at the museum that will explore the influence of this movement on Mexican artists.
