The International Balloon Festival is coming to Mexico City! This Tuesday, October 6, you can enjoy a Magical Night at the Monument to the Revolution—a free experience that will bring some of the atmosphere of the famous festival in León, Guanajuato, right here to the city.
Make sure to note the time— the event starts at 7:00 p.m., and you won’t need to buy a ticket or register in advance. Just remember: consider arriving early, since admission is free and the event is designed for all ages.
What’s in store for the Magic Night at the International Balloon Festival?
One of the signature experiences of the FIG is the Magical Night, during which the hot-air balloons remain tethered to the ground while their burners are lit to the beat of the music, creating a spectacular light show.
This special edition in Mexico City serves as a prelude to the 2026 International Balloon Festival, which will take place November 13–16 at the Metropolitan Park in León, Guanajuato. The festival’s official program features more than 200 balloons from 25 countries for the November edition.
This isn’t the first time the FIG has brought a sample of its activities to the capital. In 2018 and 2019, there were exhibitions at the Monument to the Revolution, while in 2022, a “Magical Night” took place in the Zócalo.
