Can you imagine sipping cempasúchil pulque while strolling among offerings and traditional food stalls? The Day of the Dead celebration in Xochimilco will feature an itinerary that combines flavors, crafts, and cultural expressions from Mexico City’s lake district.
From October 29 to November 2, the 22nd Annual Pulquería and Traditional Offering Festival will take place, a free event that will bring together pulque vendors, artisans, and food vendors in the Historic Center of Xochimilco.
For five days, the Corredor de las Fuentes and the Jardín Morelos will become spaces dedicated to the traditions of this season, featuring offerings, traditional rugs, and artistic activities.
There will be cempasúchil-flavored pulque and pulque with unusual flavors.

One of the main attractions will be the variety of pulque available at the participating stalls.
In addition to natural pulque, the lineup includes varieties infused with oats, pine nuts, and marzipan, as well as less common combinations, such as cheese and cajeta.
However, the flavor that stands out the most is the marigold-infused pulque, made with a flower closely associated with Day of the Dead offerings.
This concoction has its roots in Xochimilco. In 2025, pulque vendor Federico Olvera, from the Santa Crucita neighborhood, told El Gráfico that he began experimenting with this flavor more than two decades ago.
