Are you over 60 or about to turn 60? You’ve come to the right place—we’ll tell you where to apply for the INAPAM card, as well as the requirements and documents you’ll need to submit when completing this process.
The first thing you should know is that this process must be completed in person; there is no option to do it online. As for the requirements, you must bring:
- Birth certificate
- Valid official identification: This can range from a voter ID card to a military ID, a passport, or a professional license. You can even present an identity card issued by the municipality or city hall where you live
- Up-to-date CURP
- Proof of address: It’s important that this document be no more than six months old.
- A passport-sized photo: It can be in color or black and white; the important thing is that it is recent and has a white background. Avoid wearing glasses or a hat when having your photo taken.
To apply for the INAPAM card, it’s also important to provide information about an emergency contact. You must bring their updated CURP and a phone number.
Where can you apply for the INAPAM card?
As we mentioned, the process must be completed in person. To find the office closest to your home, simply click on this link and enter your state and municipality or city hall.
The service centers are open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Remember that this process is free and permanent; you do not need to renew your INAPAM card periodically since it does not expire (unless you lose it or it becomes damaged).
With this card, you’ll receive certain benefits, such as discounts at certain establishments, as well as free access to some forms of public transportation in Mexico City.
