Don’t deny it. Most of us want to wear something new for Christmas and New Year’s. However, that doesn’t mean we have to blow through our savings or our year-end bonus. There are plenty of places to buy affordable clothes in Mexico City.
The best part is that they offer both new and secondhand clothing (in perfect condition). There’s something for every style. Do you already have your New Year’s Eve outfit? Check out these options.
Historic Center

In the Historic Center, you can find everything, including new clothes. You’ll find clothing on practically every street; however, we recommend visiting José María Izazaga, just a few steps from the Pino Suárez Metro station. You’ll find countless stores selling both casual and formal wear.
You can also head to Correo Mayor. It’s not specifically focused on clothing, but you’ll still find plenty of options there. So if you’re looking for places to buy affordable clothes in downtown Mexico City, make a note of these two streets.
Mixcalco Market

At this market, you’ll find countless clothing items at great prices. It has outfits for all kinds of occasions: parties, 15th-birthday dresses, casual and athletic wear, as well as shoes and accessories.
You’ll also find jackets and warm clothing to help you survive the cold weather this time of year.
Tiangucci

In addition to cheap clothing stores, we’ve got other options for you. This is a flea market featuring secondhand clothing that’s held occasionally in Mexico City. It’s organized by Club Vintage and stands out for the wide variety of clothing it offers. The next event is on October 17 and 18. Admission is free.
Closeteando

Clothes deserve a second chance, too. At this sustainable boutique, you’ll find thousands of items in perfect condition, as well as shoes and accessories. All the clothing has been donated and is sold at very affordable prices. You’ll find a variety of brands and sizes. Plus, you’ll be helping the environment.
La Raza Flea Market

Although you’ll find plenty of bulk clothing at this flea market, new clothes and shoes are also sold here. That said, we recommend arriving early and wearing comfortable clothes so you can browse at your own pace. You’re sure to find your entire outfit here. It takes place on Sundays near Insurgentes Norte in the Gustavo A. Madero district.

Here, we’re not just bringing you affordable clothing in Mexico City—we’re also offering free clothing. At Utopía México Tenochtitlan, there’s an area called the “Circular Fashion Station,” where you can swap clothes. You can bring up to 5 clean items in perfect condition and exchange them for credits.
You can use the store credit to buy other items there. This Utopía store is located above the Colegio Militar station on Metro Line 2. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
