It’s official. Several neighborhoods in Mexico City will be under a dry law this Wednesday, June 24, due to the Mexico vs. Czech Republic match. This was announced in the Official Gazette of Mexico City.
As you know, this Wednesday, June 24, the Mexican National Team will play its third match in the 2026 World Cup at 7:00 p.m. sharp. For this event, screens will be set up at various locations throughout Mexico City. Additionally, a dry law will be in effect in some areas. We’ll give you all the details.
Which neighborhoods will have a dry law on June 24 for Mexico’s game?
As detailed in the Official Gazette of Mexico City, the sale of alcoholic beverages will be suspended from 3:00 p.m. on June 24 until 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, in:
- Perimeter “A” of the Historic Center
- Centro Neighborhood
- Tabacalera Neighborhood
- Colonia Juárez
- San Rafael Neighborhood
- Cuauhtémoc Neighborhood
This suspension applies to convenience stores, grocery stores, and supermarkets located in these areas. It’s worth noting that “the consumption of alcoholic beverages with food inside commercial establishments” is exempt from this measure—such as restaurants, lodging facilities, movie theaters, auditoriums, theaters, and private clubs, for example.
