
In the blink of an eye we’re halfway through the year, which means that we’re getting closer to incredible events like the 2025 Monumental Alebrijes Parade in CDMX.
This parade is part of the Night of the Alebrijes and is organized by the Museo de Arte Popular (MAP for friends). Every year huge alebrijes made by craftsmen and craftswomen from different states of the country parade through the streets. It is a free event. Save the date!
When is the parade of monumental alebrijes 2025 in CDMX?
According to the call published by the museum, the alebrijes parade will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025. As in previous years, the route will go from the Zócalo of the CDMX to the Angel of Independence.
It will pass through streets such as 5 de Mayo, Juarez and Paseo de la Reforma. Now, what time is the alebrijes parade? It will start at 12:00 noon. If you can’t make it, don’t worry because you will have several days to see the participating alebrijes.
From October 18 to November 9 you can visit an exhibition of monumental alebrijes on Paseo de la Reforma. The pieces will be installed between the Angel de la Independencia traffic circle and the Estela de Luz. Both activities are free and outdoors.
How can I participate in the parade?
The pieces that we will see in the parade are part of a contest. If you want to participate in it you must register on the MAP website; registration will be open from June 20 to August 22.
Participants must make an alebrije between 2 and 2.60 meters tall. Here is the complete call for entries.
