Do you already have your agenda ready? This Saturday, October 18, the Day of the Dead 2025 parades kick off in Mexico City. We will see huge alebrijes, catrinas and even zombies. Here we bring you the route and dates of each one so you can start organizing your itinerary, there will be a lot to do!
Remember that all Day of the Dead 2025 parades in CDMX are free. Here they are
1. Monumental Alebrijes Parade

More than 200 monumental alebrijes will parade this October 18 along Paseo de la Reforma, 5 de Mayo and Juarez as part of a traditional parade of the Museum of Popular Art (MAP). If you can’t make it, don’t worry because the participating pieces will be exhibited on Paseo de la Reforma from October 18 to November 9 (right between the Angel and the Estela de Luz).
The alebrijes you’ll see were made by artists and artisans from states like San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, Puebla, Morelos, CDMX, Estado de México and Quintana Roo, among others.

2. Zombie March

This year the Zombie March will have a lot of rhythm, because before the march starts, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” will be choreographed in front of the Monument to the Revolution. The event is free, but participants are asked to bring rice, beans or a non-perishable food item for the annual collection. Remember this is an event with a cause.

3. Catrina Fest Parade in Chapultepec

This festival will also have one of the Day of the Dead parades in CDMX that you can’t miss. It will take place this Sunday, October 19 at Aztlán, Feria de Chapultepec. Originally it would take place from Los Pinos to Aztlán; however, it was decided to change the location of the event.

4. Mega Catrinas Procession

Everything is ready for the Mega Catrinas Procession 2025! This parade seeks to promote the traditions related to Day of the Dead. The parade starts at 6:00 p.m. but there will be makeup artists in Reforma from several hours before, so if you want to get your makeup done, don’t hesitate to take a walk. Each makeup will have a different cost.

5. Day of the Dead Parade

It is one of the most awaited Day of the Dead parades. The Ministry of Culture informed that the event will take place on November 1; however, the schedule has not been announced.
Regarding the theme, Faro de Aragón detailed that this year it will be dedicated to wrestling and the art of drag. More details will be announced soon.
