The day has arrived! Starting Tuesday, June 9, you can visit the exhibition “Soccer 2026: Annie Leibovitz in Mexico City,” which showcases part of the work this photographer has produced over her 50-year career.
This exhibition is coming to the National Museum of Anthropology as part of the 2026 World Cup and features 130 photographs, including images from Mexico 1986 as well as portraits of iconic players such as Mbappé, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Alex Morgan, and Guillermo Ochoa, to name a few.
“Forty years have passed, and I’ve become more interested in people and portraits. When I got into the game this time, I really started thinking about the players; I wanted to capture them on the field. I want to say that they are heroes, they are brothers in arms, poets—an incredible group of human beings,” the photographer said during the exhibition’s opening.
How long can you see the Annie Leibovitz exhibition in Mexico City?
The exhibition will be on view from June 9 to August 30, 2026. You’ll find it in Room A1 of the National Museum of Anthropology (Paseo de la Reforma S/N, first section of Chapultepec Forest), and you can visit from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
General admission to the venue costs $210 per person. Mexicans and residents pay only $105. Admission is free on Sundays. Here’s a small sample of what you’ll see at the exhibition.
