With a collection of the Cineteca Nacional and a lot of pieces belonging to these artists (such as the iconic Ariel), starts an exhibition dedicated to Salvador Novo and Dolores del Río. Let’s remember that both characters were inseparable; for a long time they shared their passion for theater, literature and dance.
The exhibition is called “De imagen y palabra, Dolores del Río y Salvador Novo a 120 años de sus natalicios” and will be at Casa Rivas Mercado (📍 Héroes 45, Guerreo) until March 31, 2025. What will you see?
Photographs, documents, two of Dolores’ costumes and even a recording of the documentary Mexico 70, material interpreted by the actress and written by Salvador. The exhibition is divided into four; the idea is for you to get to know the trajectory of each of them. Then, you’ll see how their paths come together.
If, like us, you love to discover secrets, get ready to delve into never-before-told facts and stories. For example, did you know that Dolores was also a plastic artist? Well, here you’ll see some of her work on canvas, which is being exhibited for the first time. 🎨
Among the pieces that have attracted the most attention is an Ariel by Dolores del Río and scripts belonging to El teatro de Ulises, a forum focused on experimental theater. 🎭
As you can see, this exhibition will blow your mind and put you in context about Mexico’s culture in the 20th century.
Remember that to visit it you need to make an appointment in advance, which you can do via WhatsApp (55 8320 9195). You can also call 55 2591 6666. When you call, they will let you know the dates and times available.
