It’s time to put your salsa and cumbia classes to the test! The capital’s authorities have confirmed the Gran Baile Sonidero 2026 in the Zócalo of Mexico City, and we couldn’t be more excited to give it our all in the Plancha.
The party will be led by 12 sounds from different generations: more than 30 years, 15 to 29 years, and less than 15 years of experience in the world of sonideros.
On this occasion,Sonido Cóndor will be the special guest, and a tribute will be paid to their career. Migrant sonideros and sonideras will also perform, opening the event.
When will the Grand Dance of Sonideros and Sonideras take place?

The 2026 sonidero dance will take place on Saturday, March 21, at the Plancha del Zócalo in the capital.
If you also want to dance to the rhythms of salsa, cumbia, and other tropical rhythms, mark this event in your calendar and discover why everyone wants to attend this mega dance party.
But if you can’t wait to hit the dance floor, you’ll be thrilled to know that another sonidero dance is coming to Mexico City. It’s part of the Art Week 2026 program, with six hours of pure cumbia and flavor! Best of all, admission is free; check out all the details here.
