It is not news, but it never hurts to remember that most banks will be closed for a few days this Easter Week 2025. We’ll tell you the details so you won’t be caught off guard.
Every year, in the month of April, different Mexican banks close operations for 48 hours, which prevents you from making transactions directly at the branches.
Sounds important, doesn’t it? But don’t worry, if you have any doubts, the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) announced that the suspension of banking activities will only last for four days:
- Thursday, April 17
- Friday, April 18
- Saturday, April 19
- Sunday, April 20
Most banks will be closed these dates of Holy Week 2025 due to religious celebrations on Thursday and Friday. However, it is spliced together with the usual bank break that takes place on Saturdays and Sundays.
What to do when banks are closed this Easter Week 2025?
It is important for you to know that the operation of ATMs will not be affected by this closure of banking activities, so if you need to withdraw cash, you can do it without any problem.
What service will be suspended then? ATM operations and customer service at branches, so we recommend that you make any bank transaction that requires these two services in advance.
Everything will return to normal on Monday, April 21, and it is also important to note that Banco Azteca will be the only bank closed this Holy Week 2025 that will maintain its usual service as it does 365 days a year.
