Did you know that some plants, in addition to their biological characteristics, have taken on spiritual significance? Throughout October, you can learn some of their stories in “Botany of the Occult: Ceremonies and Rituals,” a themed tour at the UNAM Botanical Garden that will take place on only five dates.
This interesting tour will take place on October 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31 at 11:30 a.m. Admission is $80 per person, and advance registration is required, as space is limited.
What is this themed tour at the UNAM Botanical Garden all about?
This seasonal experience offers a unique perspective on plants. During the guided tour, participants will learn about the syncretism of sacred plants, which have long been considered a link between the spiritual and material worlds.
In addition to touring the IBUNAM Botanical Garden, you’ll learn stories related to the symbolic significance of different species and their connection to rituals and ceremonies.
The theme is particularly fitting for October and the days leading up to the Day of the Dead celebrations. In fact, one of the tours will take place on October 31, although there will also be options during the preceding weeks.
When will “Botánica de lo Oculto” take place?
Mark your calendars! You’ll only have five opportunities to take this guided tour at the UNAM Botanical Garden: October 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31.
