Are you ready to experience a night where the magical and the everyday meet? Cenas Literarias has announced its new edition entitled Las Tres Brujas(The Three Witches), a literary dinner inspired by Leonora Carrington that also pays tribute to Remedios Varo and Kati Horna, three essential creators of surrealism in Mexico.
The event was originally scheduled for February 13 and 14. However, due to its success, two more dates were added: February 20 and 21, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at Liverpool 21, Juárez, Cuauhtémoc, one of those spaces that seem made to invoke parallel worlds.
What will the surrealist dinner in Mexico City be like?
Designed as a surrealist experience in Mexico City, this proposal combines gastronomy, history, and theater to create a ritual that transcends the limits of the traditional format.
Throughout several courses, the dishes interact with theatrical scenes, texts, and atmospheres that evoke the intimate universes of these three artists who transformed art through exile, friendship, and creative rebellion. Here, the audience does not just observe: they sit at the coven’s table and become part of the story.
Far from a literal tribute, Las Tres Brujas proposes an imaginary encounter where the obsessions, symbols, and complicities that marked their work appear.
Magic as an inner quest, imagination as resistance, friendship as home, and art as an act of disobedience are the threads that run through every moment of the evening.
This literary dinner by Leonora Carrington, Remedios Varo, and Kati Horna is designed for those seeking experiences that touch on the extraordinary.
For lovers of surrealism, letters, painting, photographs that defy logic, and above all, for those who want to experience art beyond the museum. Imagination is the main course here: it is tasted, heard, and breathed.
General admission costs $1,700 per person and includes a three-course dinner and welcome drink as part of a unique scenic-literary experience.
Tickets are now available online. If you’ve ever dreamed of sitting at the table with Carrington, Varo, and Horna, this is the night to do it.
