We’ll be able to visit it very soon! Next Monday, August 10, the Cat Museum in Mexico City will officially open its doors. We’ve already visited it, and they gave us a sneak peek at everything this new space will have to offer. Keep reading because we’ve got all the details for you.
As the name suggests, this museum will be dedicated to cats. It will have three galleries where you’ll learn everything about these felines, including their relationship with humans, their ancestors, and more about their history.
Your guide will be Sissi, a kitten inspired by the museum owners’ pet. The tour lasts 45 minutes, and admission will be in groups of 15 people, so you won’t run into large crowds during your visit.
Throughout the tour, you’ll find various activities, such as a virtual reality experience and an arcade. Plus, you’ll see incredible projections created by a Mexican studio (no AI was used at all), as well as photo ops. There will even be an area where you can share pictures of your own kitties.
When does the Cat Museum open in Mexico City, and how much is admission?
According to their official social media accounts, the museum will open on Monday, August 10. In fact, you can already buy your tickets online. The cost per person will be $350.
As we mentioned, admission will be by group, so when you buy your tickets, you’ll need to choose the time slot you’d like to visit. Be sure to arrive well in advance, as your tour will begin at the scheduled time.
The best part is that the museum will be open every day. Visit during these hours:
- Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
