On Friday, August 2, the Festival of Indigenous Cultures, Indigenous Peoples and Neighborhoods of Mexico City kicked off, which this year celebrates its tenth edition. This is an event that seeks to celebrate the cultural richness that exists in CDMX and throughout the country.
On this occasion, the theme of the event is “The earth is the mother of all peoples”. The main activity is the sale of handicrafts in the Zócalo; however, there will be more activities.
All about the Festival of Indigenous Cultures 2024 in the Zócalo
This time the holiday will be from 📅2 to August 18, 2024. You will be able to visit it in a 🕒 from 9:00 to 21:00. The 🎟️access is free of charge.
In addition to many handicrafts, you will have the opportunity to taste typical dishes, see samples of ancestral medicine and even participate in workshops. Music will not be missing, so throughout the festival there will be musical and cultural presentations.
It is worth mentioning that the event will have special guests: Brazil, the native people of Santa Isabel Tola (from the GAM) and the Yaqui indigenous people. Take a walk to get to know the cultural richness. Take advantage of these days off in the Historic Center of the CDMX.
