The cold weather will continue in Mexico City over the next few days, especially in certain boroughs. The Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection has issued an orange alert in the borough of Tlalpan, where temperatures of 1 to 3 degrees are expected between 1:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Take precautions because it will be a very cold night!
In addition, the agency activated a yellow alert in the municipalities of Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras, and Milpa Alta, where temperatures will range from 4 to 6 degrees during the night and early morning hours.
Measures to take in response to the cold weather in Mexico City on January 20
During the cold season, the agency recommends that the population:
- Avoid sudden changes in temperature
- Drink plenty of water
- Try to consume fruits and vegetables with vitamins A and C
- Dress warmly, especially covering your mouth and nose
Don’t forget your umbrella or raincoat, as Tláloc will be making an appearance these days. According to the National Weather Service, isolated showers are expected in Mexico City on Tuesday, January 20, as well as intervals of showers in the State of Mexico.
On Wednesday, January 21, the cold weather will continue, as will the rain in both areas. Run for your tiger blanket because we’ll have low temperatures for a while longer.
