Forgot your card? Don’t worry, some cell phones can already use the digital mobility card. Check in which means of transportation you can use it.
As you know, for some time now you have been able to pay for public transportation with your cell phone (and in some cases even with smart watches). Now another alternative has been added.
In a press conference, Mexico City authorities explained that there is a new update of the CDMX App, which now has the Integrated Virtual Mobility Card, which you can recharge from the same phone.
On which cell phones can I use the digital mobility card?
According to a press release, for now this virtual transportation card is only available for Android and Huawei. Later it will be available for all other devices. In addition, it is important to mention that if your cell phone does not have NFC you will not be able to use it.
To activate it you must enter the application and go to the My Shortcuts section. You can recharge it with a debit, credit or CoDi card. The recharges that can be made range from $15 to $500.
Regarding the means of transportation that will accept this virtual card, the RTP is the only one where, so far, you will not be able to use it. It should be mentioned that the digital card and the physical card are different: that is to say, the fact that you recharge credit on one does not mean that the other will also receive the balance. They are different cards and their balances are independent.
