If you want to connect with nature and learn more about one of Mexico’s most iconic flowers, set aside the morning of Saturday, July 25. The Chapultepec Center for Environmental Culture will offer the workshop “Sowing Traditions: Cempasúchil,” a free activity where you’ll discover how to grow this iconic plant while learning about its importance to Mexican ecosystems and traditions.
The session will cover topics such as the biology of the cempasúchil, its life cycle, best practices for growing it, and the role it plays in the country’s biocultural heritage. In addition, the session will explain why this flower is key to biodiversity and how it has become one of the most iconic symbols of Mexican celebrations.
