Can you imagine watching the sunrise among volcanoes, surrounded by cempasúchil flowers and listening to ancestral stories while navigating through the canals of Xochimilco? La Ruta del Cempasúchil returns this 2025 with an even more magical and multisensory proposal to celebrate the Day of the Dead like never before.

Organized by Explora Xochimilco, this unique trajinera ride combines tradition, flavor and mysticism. The experience includes tables decorated with ofrendas, the presence of catrines and catrinas, live pre-Hispanic music and tastings of café de olla, quelite tamales, pan de muerto and a traditional dessert.
Sounds amazing to celebrate this time of year so full of tradition, doesn’t it? All this accompanied by dynamics with the emblematic cempasúchil flower and stories about the legends and chinampas of the area.
What does the Cempasúchil Explora Xochimilco Route include and how to reserve your place?

The tour includes three stops to fall in love with: the Chinampa del Sol, ideal for watching the sunrise; the Chinampa del Cempasúchil, where the legend of the flower is relived; and the Chinampa de La Llorona, where an ancestral drink is offered surrounded by mystery.
