If your phone detects the CFE wifi network, it means you can have free internet! There is coverage in different parts of the CDMX, especially libraries, hospitals and even in the Metrobus. The best thing is that connecting is very easy.
This is a service called CFE Telecomunicaciones e Internet para Todos (CFE Telecommunications and Internet for All) that includes connection points in all the states of the Mexican Republic. The State of Mexico is the entity with the most connectivity zones; it has 10,841 points.
Mexico City has 4,380 connection points in public spaces. For example, general hospitals in Tlatelolco, Iztacalco, La Raza or the Morelos psychiatric hospital. There are also 124 libraries and 272 points on the Metrobus, just to mention a few.
How can I connect to CFE’s free internet?

As with other wifi networks, you must first select the network on your device; it is called Wifi CFE Internet para Todos. After accepting the terms and conditions, click “enter” and that’s it!
On this map you will find the areas with internet that you can connect to.
It should be noted that the Federal Electricity Commission installed networks with three different technologies: 4G shared network, fiber optics and satellite connection. The objective is to bring internet to vulnerable areas of the country, in addition to reducing the digital divide.
