There will be a concert with Mexican music for the anniversary of the National Museum of History, Chapultepec Castle! This Mexico City venue is celebrating its 81st anniversary.
The National Museum of History, located in Chapultepec Castle, opened its doors on September 27, 1944. It currently houses more than 100,000 objects from different periods of Mexico’s history.
To celebrate its 81st anniversary, a series of activities have been prepared, including concerts, night tours and more. Check out everything that will be happening starting September 18.
When will the anniversary concert of the Chapultepec Castle Museum be held?
This concert will include traditional Mexican music; it will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at 12:00 noon. It will be led by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Secretary of the Navy and the event is included in your admission ticket ($100).
You will enjoy everything from classical music to opera and choral accompaniment. It is worth mentioning that this is not the only concert. On Tuesday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. the show “My name is Mexico” will be presented, with the participation of singer-songwriter Gao de la Cruz, according to a press release from INAH.
In addition, on September 25, “Farándula lírica” will be presented, where a tribute to musical theater will be made; meanwhile, at 7:00 p.m., “Con M de México, con M de música” will be presented, in which the actor José Mojica will be remembered.
But that’s not all, on September 26 there will be a piano recital at 12:00 noon, while at 7:00 pm you will enjoy “Gala lírica: Verdi, Rossini y Donizetti”.
It is worth mentioning that there will not only be concerts, there will also be lectures, book presentations and even a musical monologue. Don’t miss the celebration of the 81st anniversary of this emblematic museum in Mexico City. Even during the Night of Museums (September 24) there will be a guided tour of the exterior of this museum.
