1. Fonoteca Nacional
In an 18th century mansion known as La casa Alvarado, you’ll find one of the most important sound collections in Mexico. There are radiophonic materials, rhythms and everything related to the country’s sound heritage such as radio soap operas, voices of very important characters and music. 🔊
You will listen to unpublished audios! In addition, cultural and artistic activities are open to the public. In this place you will not only know its archive, but also the beautiful spaces of the building such as its main courtyard or the garden. Ideal to have a different date with your partner.

2. Chapultepec Audiorama
There are times when you want to be with your partner and literally just be. Chapu’s audiroama is perfect for those occasions; it’s a place to disconnect. Read a book, listen to music, and even have a restorative, open-air nap. There is seating here that will allow you to relax, as well as book lending. 🌳🎧

3. UNAM Film Archive
Movie lovers? The Filmoteca UNAM movie theaters are one of the cheapest places to go out as a couple. Tickets cost $40. Mexican and international film seasons are shown here, and the billboard includes award-winning and legendary films. 🎬
The program includes art films, documentaries and films that mark the history of the seventh art. Take your sweetheart to see films made by great directors such as Luis Buñuel or Hayao Miyazaki, to name a few. 🍿

4. Sculpture Space
In Ciudad Universitaria there are plenty of places to go out as a couple, most of them cheap and many more with free admission. Among the must-sees is the Sculpture Space in the Ecological Reserve of the UNAM.
It is a series of sculptures of abstract and geometric art; the prisms form a circle surrounding a lake of petrified volcanic lava. The combination of sculptures and vegetation offers a unique tour. If you haven’t visited it yet, invite your partner to visit it with you!

5. National Watercolor Museum
Coyoacán has plenty of museums, perfect for a date or to do something different as a couple, especially if you love art. Water paintings are concentrated here, although there are also pieces that explore other techniques. There are temporary and permanent exhibitions, such as that of artist Alfredo Guati Rojo to whom this precinct is dedicated. 🎨

6. Vasconcelos Library
One of the most beautiful libraries in Mexico City is, without a doubt, the Vasconcelos Library. With a collection of more than 600,000 copies, this place is visited by students, researchers, tourists and also many couples. And why not, if it boasts an impressive modern architecture.
But why visit it as a couple? In addition to consultations and loans, this place hosts a lot of cultural activities such as book presentations, lectures, film screenings and artistic performances. You can check out their schedule on their Facebook page. 🤓
You can also enter their garden, one of the lesser known spaces of the library where you can sunbathe, rest and chat with your companion. 📚

7. La Mexicana Park
Outdoor plans? Parque La Mexicana! This space offers plenty of attractions to enjoy a sunny day with your date, your novix or your amix. There is an amphitheater, skatepark, gardens, fountains and even an artificial lake.
Admission is free, although if you can spend more than 50 pesos, you’ll be happy to know that there are several restaurants with terraces. If your partner is your furry one, don’t hesitate to bring him or her along as it’s pet friendly 🌳

8. Kaluz Museum Observatory
On the terrace of the Kaluz Museum you will find the Urban Observatory. It is a space overlooking the intersection of Hidalgo Avenue and Paseo de la Reforma; from its location you will be able to see the Torre Latino. The sunsets in this place are spectacular, so plan everything to enjoy the golden hour. 🌇

9. Poet’s House
After crossing a secret door, you will arrive at the house of the Zacatecan poet Ramón López Velarde. The building, in the Porfirian style, houses furniture and objects that belonged to the artist during the last three years of his life. There are books, photographs and part of his works. ✍🏽
In addition to the tour, you and your partner can join the cultural activities that take place here. If you go during Museum Night, you’ll be amazed by the themed and dramatized tours, which usually cost $20.

10. Chapultepec Carroccoel
This is one of the most romantic (and cheapest) places to go out as a couple! The Venetian carousel in Bosque de Chapultepec is a legendary attraction; hop on a horse and enjoy. During the evening, the illumination of this ride creates a magical moment. 🎠
This activity is located in the Labyrinth of the Mirrors, where there are other attractions such as a crystal labyrinth, immersive horror experience and even a zip line. Each of the activities has a different cost.
