The Minería Symphony Orchestra’s children’s concert returns this summer to Mexico City with an experience designed to introduce children and adults alike to the fascinating world of classical music. Titled “Dreaming to the Beat! My Friend, the Orchestra: A Dream Factory,” this show will combine storytelling, fairy tales, and some of the most famous works in history for an afternoon perfect for the whole family to enjoy.
The event is part of the Minería Symphony Orchestra’s 2026 Summer Season and aims to show that classical music can be fun, exciting, and accessible to young children. Through unforgettable melodies, the audience will take an imaginative journey through flower-filled fields, lightning-filled storms, epic horseback rides, and colorful fireworks.
What will the Minería Symphony Orchestra’s children’s concert be like?
In addition to hearing excerpts from some of the most celebrated compositions of all time, the audience will enjoy narration by Mario Iván Martínez and David Salomón, who will present an adaptation of *The Emperor’s New Clothes*, the classic tale by Hans Christian Andersen.
The experience will also help children discover how a symphony orchestra works. Attendees will learn about the different families of instruments, how they produce sound, and how composers combine each element to create the pieces we hear in concert.
The performance will be conducted by Raúl Aquiles Delgado, associate conductor of the Minería Symphony Orchestra.
Music by Mozart, Beethoven, and Vivaldi for the whole family
The program will include special arrangements of some of the most popular works from the classical repertoire. Highlights include Vivaldi’s *The Four Seasons: Spring* , excerpts from Beethoven’s*Pastoral Symphony*, music from Mendelssohn’s*A Midsummer Night’s Dream*, Mozart’s*Horn Concerto No. 3*, as well as selections from Rossini’s *William Tell* and Handel’s*Music for the Royal Fireworks*.
