Save the date! The Historic Center will host a Chinese New Year parade, where you will see lions, dragons, and more. The activity is part of a free event where you can learn more about Chinese culture.
The National Museum of World Cultures is more than ready to celebrate Chinese New Year. As in previous years, there will be a unique event full of activities, such as a parade and a costume contest where you can win cell phones and other prizes.
When will the Chinese New Year parade take place in the Historic Center of Mexico City?

Mark your calendars because the event will only last one day. It will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026. According to the Chinese Community of Mexico’s social media accounts, the parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be based on Moneda Street (a few steps from the Zócalo).
In the parade, you will see more than six lions and 30 dragons. Once the parade is over, they will perform inside the museum. In addition, there will be many activities such as dances, conferences, martial arts demonstrations, workshops, and more. Admission is free.
It is worth mentioning that the Chinese Embassy in Mexico, the Chinese Cultural Center in Mexico, and the Chinese Community of Mexico are participating in this event. Remember that the National Museum of World Cultures is located at Moneda 13, Historic Center.
If you want to participate in the costume contest, keep in mind that registration ends on February 2. Here is the complete announcement.
