If you’re looking for a different way to give a second life to clothes you no longer wear, this event is for you. Closet del Cambio is coming to Mexico City with an event where you can swap clothes, buy clothing, recycle textiles, and support a charitable cause.
The initiative will be held in collaboration with Comunidad Musas, an organization that supports women diagnosed with cancer and regularly organizes fundraising activities. On this occasion, the donation required to participate in the swap will go directly to this community.
How does the clothing swap work?
The process is very simple. All you need to do is bring between one and ten items of clothing in excellent condition. The organizing team will review each item and assign it a score. With those points, you can choose other available items and refresh your wardrobe in a more mindful way.
In addition to the clothing swap, the event will also feature a clothing sale, a drop-off for clothing to be recycled, a donation drive for books and notebooks to be recycled, and a service for basic mending—such as hemming and button replacement—for an additional fee.
It’s an excellent option for those looking to consume more responsibly, reduce textile waste, and support community projects at the same time.
