We are already halfway through the year, which means that one of the unmissable events of the season is just around the corner: the Crystallized Candy Fair 2025 in Xochimilco. This is a traditional event that has been held since 1982 in this Mexico City municipality.
It is held in the town of Santa Cruz Acalpixca, where local artisans make a wide variety of crystallized sweets, such as pumpkin, carrot, cactus and even onion. At this fair you will not only taste countless sweets, but you will also learn more about this tradition. Keep an eye on the details because there is already a date for this year’s edition.
When is the Crystalized Candy Fair 2025 in CDMX?
Start organizing your agenda because it’s just a few days away. This year the fair will be held from July 18 to 27 at the Plaza Cívica Lázaro Cárdenas, in Santa Cruz Acalpixca, Xochimilco. In addition to crystallized sweets such as nopales and even chiles, other products such as cocadas and palanquetas, for example, will be offered.
You will find more than 200 varieties of sweets made with fruits and vegetables. But that’s not all; cultural and artistic shows are organized during the event. Even in previous years, sports activities have been presented.
The fair is already a tradition in the town of Xochimilco. The idea is to promote these sweets made by the inhabitants of the area. The complete program will be announced later, as well as the schedules. The best thing is that the entrance to the event is free. Are you going to miss it?
