Everything about the 2026 World Cup parade on Reforma
The route will be 3 km long. It will begin near the Diana Cazadora fountain on Paseo de la Reforma and end at the Monument to the Revolution. At a press conference, it was announced that various aspects of Mexican culture will be showcased during the event.
There will be floats featuring past World Cups held in Mexico, one with a figure of Maradona, another featuring Xochimilco, and even one with a Day of the Dead theme to honor legendary soccer players who have passed away.
As for the giant balloons, we’ll see several designs, including some featuring Pique and Juanito, the mascots of the 1970 and 1986 World Cups in Mexico. Additionally, the parade will feature giant alebrijes, 50 catrinas, pre-Hispanic dancers, 96 athletes wearing the jerseys of the national teams participating in the World Cup, and a troupe of characters from Mexico City.
We’ll even see a batucada featuring 50 male and female wrestlers. Of course, there will be plenty of music. Sonido La Changa will parade on its own float. Admission to the event is free, and you can watch it from anywhere along the route; however, we recommend arriving early to get a good spot. Don’t forget your hat and sunscreen, as it’s usually hot at that time of day.
