Parade and More at the Day of the Dead Festival at the Dolores Cemetery
The event will take place at two venues: the Dolores Civil Cemetery and Sanctorum. At the former, activities will begin on October 31 at 11:00 a.m., when the communal grave offering will be unveiled; later, a dance troupe will perform at 3:00 p.m.
If theater is your thing, set aside time at 4:00 p.m., as the play “Calaca” will be performed. That same day, there will be a reading aloud and even storytelling of legends. The day will conclude with a screening of the film “City of the Dead.”
On November 1, there will be theater, talks, dance, and readings. Finally, on November 2, there will be a mariachi performance at 4:00 p.m. and a catrina parade at 3:00 p.m., in which you can participate—you just need to come dressed as a catrina or catrín.
At the Sanctorum venue, there will also be music, dance, and theater. Here’s the full schedule so you don’t miss a thing. Celebrate the Day of the Dead at one of Mexico City’s most iconic cemeteries.
