The Del Barrio Street Art Festival returns to Mexico City with a clear mission: to make art accessible to everyone, just like the tacos on the corner.
The second edition of the festival will take place from February 9 to 23, 2026, at various locations throughout Mexico City, with a completely free program that includes murals, exhibitions, workshops, an artists’ bazaar, talks, and activities designed for the community.
The initiative seeks to establish itself as an inclusive and participatory artistic platform, where dialogue, diversity of voices, and the use of public space take center stage.
Here, urban art is not observed from afar: it is lived, discussed, and built collectively, taking over the streets, walls, and everyday spaces of the city.
Latido Barrial: a first look at the Del Barrio Street Art Festival CDMX
As a prelude to the festival, the Latido Barrial exhibition will be installed in January 2026, celebrating the identity, memory, and energy of neighborhoods through contemporary art.
The opening will be on Friday , January 23, at 4:00 p.m. at the Candelaria Metro station, Pantitlán direction.
The event will be attended by Cultura Metro CDMX, as well as some of the participating artists, who will share this special moment with music, conviviality, and open dialogue.
Latido Barrial seeks to activate public space and turn it into a meeting point where art feels close, accessible, and alive.
Barco Utopía will host the exhibition “Muchos Barrios”
As part of the festival’s activities, Barco Utopía will host the multidisciplinary exhibition Muchos Barrios, which will be open from February 14 to March 7, 2026.
This exhibition will bring together works that reflect on identity, community, migration, territories, resistance, and neighborhood roots.
The exhibition will include painting, illustration, photography, engraving, collage, textiles, object art, mixed media, and video art, broadening the conversation about what it means to live and create in the neighborhood.
