The International Fantastic Film Festival Feratum is back with its 13th edition and will be a perfect excuse to escape to the Magical Town of Tlalpujahua, Michoacán.
This film festival will take place from November 7 to 10 and will celebrate another year with a theme centered on psychopaths and serial killers who have left their mark on horror cinema.
Feratum will pay tribute to cinema classics such as Slasher: 50 Years of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th and the Mexican film, Infernal Trap, filmed in Tlalpujahua.
This year’s program offers an outstanding selection of fantastic cinema with 83 national and international titles from the United States, France, the Netherlands, Poland and Austria. You can take a look at the program, synopsis and more at Feratum’s official website.

This year the festival has prepared several workshops, conferences and master classes with film industry professionals:
- Masterclass: Creating Imaginary Worlds: Fantastic Film Production- given by: Nicolás Celis, film producer.
- Pitching Workshop: How do I sell my film – given by: Pato Saiz,screenwriter: Pato Saiz, screenwriter and film producer.
- Horror Short Film Screenplay – taught by: Sandra Becerril and Henry Bedwell: Sandra Becerril and Henry Bedwell, film screenwriters.
- Workshop on the creation of prosthetics and fake blood – taught by Alfredo García, make-up artist and special effects director.
- Children’s Workshop: Artificial Intelligence in Film – taught by: Harumy Villarreal and Ulises Guzman, producer and VFX designer.
- Children’s Workshop on Film Appreciation – given by: Lily Gutiérrez, cultural manager.
- Masterclass: Independent Film Distribution – given by: Fernando Montes de Oca, film distributor.
- Masterclass: Horror cinema as one of the fine arts, 50 years of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre – given by Mauricio Matamoros Durán.
- Masterclass: Canacine, the film industry in Mexico, given by Tabata Vilar, director of Canacine Mexico.
- Panel: Film commissions Morelia and Michoacán, allies to make your film, speakers: Luis Fernando Gutiérrez, director of the Michoacán film commission, Sandra Agullera, delegate of the Morelia film commission.
- Panel: Development of genre projects, alliances and markets – Miguel Ángel Marín, director of feratum, Patricio Saiz, screenwriter, Sandra Becerril, screenwriter, Isaac Basulto, producer.

About the March of the Beasts
Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated activities of Feratum, as here the general public participates with their best costumes and characterizations in the traditional “March of the Beasts”.
This will take place on November 8 at 6:00 pm from the Esplanade of the Cultural Center of the Ex Jesuit Convent. It will travel through several streets of downtown Patzcuaro and will end at the Plaza Don Vasco.
What awaits you? A parade of fantastic creatures and monsters that take over the streets of Patzcuaro and create an atmosphere of terror and mystery. 3 best costumes will be awarded!
