The UNAM International Film Festival, FICUNAM, kicks off its fourteenth edition. This 2024 you can expect a program of international contemporary cinema that will leave you with your mouth open; the activities will be from 📆 June 13 to 20, so make a hole in your agenda.
The Miguel Covarrubias, Julio Bracho and José Revueltas halls and the Biodiversity Pavilion are just some of the venues where screenings will take place. A total of 145 films will be screened, of which 28 are world premieres.
As you can see, there is a wide range of options, according to your tastes and availability consult it here. Although seeing the new films is what moves this festival, you should know that there are also activities such as conferences, lectures and reflections.
FICUNAM 2024 will even have special guests, as well as some tributes to directors and personalities of the seventh art. See the program of activities here.
This edition does not cease to surprise us, as the visit of two directors who come to present their creations has been confirmed. One of them is Mathieu Amalric, the French filmmaker and actor who will be honored with the presentation of the🥇 Medal of the UNAM Film Archive.
The ceremony will be held on 📆 June 14 at🕛17 :15 in the Miguel Covarrubias hall. In addition to the fact that some of his works are contemplated in the billboard, a talk called “Multifaceted Mutability” will be held on 📆 June 15 at 🕛 13:00 in the Carlos Chávez hall of the CCU.
On the other hand, Spanish director Víctor Erice will visit Mexico for the first time. FICUNAM 2024 has prepared a tribute where he will also be awarded the 🥇 Filmoteca UNAM Medal. The ceremony will be held on 📆 June 16 at🕛16 :30 in the Miguel Covarruvias hall.
In addition, there will be a conversation called “The Future of the Lost” on 📆 June 18 at 🕛 18:00 in the MUAC auditorium. Organize the agenda!
