According to Mexico City authorities, this rainy season has been the heaviest in the last 40 years and rainfall is expected to continue. We bring you the rain forecast for August.
In a press conference, capital authorities informed that, statistically, August is the month with the highest rainfall each year. They also explained that, together with September, they are the most critical months of the rainy season.
As you probably noticed these days we have had significant rainfall in Mexico City, which will continue during the next few days.
Rainfall forecast for August 13 to 16 in CDMX
According to the National Meteorological Service (SMN) the Valley of Mexico will have heavy rains, as well as possible hail. Here is the forecast for each day:
- Wednesday, August 13: showers with heavy rains are expected in Mexico City. Meanwhile, heavy to very heavy rains are forecast for the State of Mexico.
- Thursday, August 14: precipitation intensity will increase in CDMX, where heavy to very heavy rains will occur.
- Friday, August 15: showers with occasional heavy rains will occur
- Saturday, August 16: rainfall intensity will decrease slightly, but it will continue to rain.
It is worth mentioning that atypical rains are not ruled out, like the one we had on Sunday, August 10, when the Zocalo rain gauge reached 84 mm of rain. Take your precautions. Remember that the rainy season ends in November.
