Ceramics, orchids, photographs, iconic items from the World Cups held in America, and much more. The Franz Mayer exhibitions in 2026 will have something for everyone and are part of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the venue. In addition, the museum will join in the World Cup festivities.
2026 is just beginning, but we already have several exhibitions that you won’t want to miss. One of them is called “Soccer: Designing a Passion.” Through it , you will tour the nine World Cups that have been held across the continent, highlighting the graphics, stadium design, and more.
You’ll even be able to see photos and articles used by great soccer players such as Pelé, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo, to name a few. This exhibition comes just in time for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Mexico, the United States, and Canada. But wait, because this is just a taste of everything you’ll see.
Franz Mayer exhibitions for 2026
The exhibition program was presented on Monday, January 26, 2026. In addition to the now traditional World Press Photo and the Orchid Expo Sale coming in the spring, the following exhibitions will be presented:
- They wanted a house; I proposed creating a home: part of the Architecture at the Franz series
- Animals and Fantastic Beings. Popular Mexican Ceramics: 57 pieces will showcase materials and techniques for working with ceramics from different parts of Mexico
- Mackups before Fuckups. Models, prototypes, and the craft of design: more than the final result, this exhibition will highlight the stumbles and corrections throughout the process of each work
- Design Mexico: proposals from national designers will be presented
- Ali Kazma: if books are your thing, you’ll like this exhibition. The rooms of the venue will feature works related to the creative processes of writing
- Biodesign Mx. Living Territories: the museum will host the first biodesign exhibition in the country
- Germany in the Franz Mayer Collection: this exhibition is linked to the 40th anniversary of the venue and will display more than 300 pieces from that country
- Dürer: the first viral artist
- AI: Beyond Human: you will find immersive and interactive installations from the Barbican Centre. The idea is to explore how we interact with artificial intelligence.

- The Vanity of Small Differences. Grayson Perry: during your visit, you will see textile pieces inspired by “The Progress of the Libertine.”
