When is the Franz Mayer Museum’s orchid exhibition?
Enter the magnificent world of flowers! The orchid exhibition at the Franz Mayer Museum will be from November 8 to 16 to show you how this plant manifests itself in many species.
The exhibition will take place within the framework of the 50th anniversary of orchidology in Mexico, and the presence of this plant is very important in the country, since 1,260 species and 170 genera have been registered in the territory alone, according to the Federal Attorney’s Office for Environmental Protection (Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente).
The museum will open its doors with this exhibition, called “Autumn Orchids” to amaze the public with more than 100 species of orchids of the season. The Mexican Association of Orchidology will be present to learn more about the cultivation of the plant.
And it is no coincidence that this museum has become an orchid paradise! Franz Mayer himself, the German-Mexican photographer after whom the museum is named, and his friend Erik Hagsater were admirers of these beautiful flowers.
