Did you know you can enjoy live music without paying a penny at one of the city’s most beautiful venues? The National Art Museum (MUNAL) opens its doors every weekend to offer free concerts in a simply spectacular setting.
Thanks to the National Coordination of Music and Opera, every Saturday and Sunday there are musical performances ranging from chamber ensembles to recitals that take advantage of the acoustics and elegance of the Reception Hall, one of the most impressive corners of the museum.
How can you get free admission to MUNAL concerts?
Access is easier than you think, but there’s a catch. To secure your spot, you must arrive at least 30 minutes before the concert begins . Keep in mind: for highly popular events, the line can start as early as 9:00 a.m., so it’s worth getting there early.
Upon arrival, head to the table located on the right side of the entrance to request your complimentary ticket. Then, go up to the second floor and wait for the staff to signal that you may enter the hall. The whole process is simple, but arriving early can make the difference between getting in or missing out.
Free music in a unique setting
Beyond the fact that it’s free, the experience is top-notch. You’ll be surrounded by stunning architecture, art, and an atmosphere that elevates every note. It’s a perfect plan if you’re looking for something cultural, unique, and affordable for the weekend in Mexico City.
The lineup changes constantly, so it’s best to check social media and the museum’s official website for the latest schedule.
