Did you know that in CDMX there are museums with free admission for children? Just as you read! Invite the little ones to these museums where they will learn about art, history and economy.
It is important to note that free admission is until a certain age. Each museum has different rules, so check them out before you go.
1. Museum of Popular Art
Alebrijes, handicrafts and even the Huichol vocho. In this museum you will see different expressions of Mexican art. It has permanent and temporary exhibits, including one on piñatas and another on kites, which change every year.
They also offer workshops for both adults and children.

Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 hours.
🎟️Menores 18 years old, people with disabilities, seniors, students, teachers and artisans enter free of charge. All other visitors pay $60. Sunday admission is free for all.
2. National Museum of Anthropology
This is one of the most popular museums in Mexico City. Its main mission is to disseminate and investigate some of the most important archeological pieces and collections in Mexico. It has 22 rooms where you will learn part of our past.

🕛Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
🎟️Adultos seniors with INAPAM card, children under 13, people with disabilities, students and teachers are free (must present ID). For others the cost is $90. On Sundays admission is free for everyone.
3. Franz Mayer Museum
Here you will find art everywhere. According to its official website, it houses and presents Franz Mayer’s collections. Of particular note is the collection of Popular Art by Ruth Lechuga.
The building also has a lot of history. It was built in the 16th century and for a long time served as a hospital.

🎟️Menores 12 years old and under are free. Admission for the general public is $85 per person, while students, teachers and seniors pay $40 upon presentation of a valid ID.
4. Chapultepec Castle National Museum of History
The emblematic Chapultepec Castle is also a museum. Here you will discover part of the history of our country and see unmissable murals.
It has several rooms where different periods and historical events, such as Mexico’s Independence, are exhibited.

5. Tamayo Museum
Since its inauguration in 1981 this museum has focused on modern and contemporary art. On your visit you will see both national and international works.

🎟️Menores 12 years old, students, teachers and senior citizens are free. On Sundays there is free admission for all. General admission is $85 per person on other days.
6. MIDE
Let’s talk about money! In this museum you will learn about different economic topics in an interactive way. It is divided into four rooms, which focus on the impact our actions have on nature, basic principles of economics, the finances of our society and more.
This is one of the museums with free admission for children; however, it is only for the little ones.

🎟️Niños and children under 3 years old are free. General admission $120 per person. Students, seniors, people with disabilities, and students and teachers with valid ID pay $100.
7. Museum of the Object of the Object
Every object has a story behind it, either its creation process or how it was used since it was made. This museum is dedicated to telling stories through items that are common in our daily lives.

🎟️Menores 12 years old and under are free. General public pays $60; while students, seniors, teachers and neighbors of the neighborhood (presenting INE) pay only $30.
8. Carrillo Gil Art Museum
Mexican art floods every corner of the museum. You will see works by different artists, which are part of the Carrillo Gil and Carmen Tejero collection.

9. Snail Museum
This museum is also located in Chapultepec. It is distinguished by its spiral-shaped construction. Here you will also learn a lot about the history of our country, and it also offers activities for all ages.

🎟️Menores 13 years old, students and teachers with ID, seniors, pensioners, retirees and people with disabilities enter free of charge. Admission is $90 for the general public. On Sundays there is free admission for Mexicans and foreigners living in our country.
10. Wax Museum
Let’s close with a flourish. At the Wax Museum you will see more than 260 figures representing different public personalities. It is one of the must-see places in CDMX.

🕛Monday to Sunday from 11:00 to 19:00 hrs.
🎟️Niños Children under 4 years old do not pay ticket. Admission to the Wax Museum costs $170 per person, but there are packages that also include the Ripley’s Museum and the Fantastic Voyage attraction.
