From ska to a gothic picnic at the Tláhuac City Hall!
The Tláhuac Arts and Crafts Factory (FARO) will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a program featuring free musical performances and multidisciplinary events throughout the month of May.
Ska and contemporary music concerts
The musical activities will begin this Sunday, May 17, at 2:00 p.m. with a ska festival. The lineup will feature performances by Los ekis, Las Valkirias, Abodrock, and La Royal Club. The latter group has established a strong presence on the national scene over the years, while Las Valkirias will bring a perspective of gender equality to the stage. This event aims to engage young audiences through alternative rhythms and emerging artistic expressions.
The Gothic Picnic Returns
Later, on Sunday, May 24, at 11:00 a.m., the venue will host the eleventh edition of the Gothic Picnic. Attendees will enjoy exhibitions related to the dark arts, literary readings, dance performances, theatrical presentations, and specialized music. Historically, this event has been known for bringing together communities with alternative identities in a welcoming atmosphere.
Surf rock for the kids
The series of celebrations will conclude on Sunday, May 31, at 2:00 p.m. with a show for children. The band Yucatán A Go Go will present a surf rock concert. Throughout its career, this group has participated in fairs and festivals in various states with a program that stimulates the family’s imagination through playful formats.
