Get your best moves ready to shine on the dance floor this weekend. On Saturday, August 30, there will be dancing for Grandparents’ Day in CDMX. Admission will be free.
Grandparents’ Day has been celebrated at the end of August in Mexico since 1983, with the objective of paying tribute to the elderly. This year there will be several activities in Mexico City, including a dance with Sonora Santanera.
Where will the Grandparents’ Day dance be held in CDMX?
The Ministry of Culture detailed that the event Vivan los Corazones de Plata will be held this Saturday, August 30 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. It is aimed mainly at senior citizens, as well as their friends and family.
It will be held at the Jesús “Palillo” Martínez Stadium (Río de la Piedad S/N, Granjas México, Iztacalco). If you go by public transportation, take into account that the closest Metro station is Ciudad Deportiva. As for the music, there will be the presence of:
- Sonora Santanera with Maria Fernanda
- La Internacional and Explosiva Sonora Dinamita
- Los Mulatos de Pepe Arévalo
- Acerina y su Danzonera
Celebrate Grandfather’s Day by dancing and having a great time.
It is worth mentioning that this is not the only event that will take place in CDMX for Grandparents’ Day. The Venustiano Carranza mayor’s office has also prepared an activity. On August 28 at 11:30 am Danny Frank, Los Tecolines and La Era Vintage will perform. The event will take place in the esplanade of the mayor’s office.
