Are you ready to take advantage of the promotions and discounts? In mid-August the Great Book Auction 2025 will take place in CDMX. You will find copies at discounted prices, even some will cost only $10.
The first thing you need to know is that this book auction is held twice a year in Mexico City. The first edition is during the Easter vacations, while the second comes during the summer vacations.
The 20th edition of the Gran Remate de Libros, Discos y Películas will take place from August 13 to 17, 2025. That’s right: it will last five days!
All that will be at the Great Book and Movie Sale in CDMX 2025
In each edition, various publishers, independent imprints and distributors will participate, offering all kinds of books: novels, history books, children’s books, etc.
Films and records will also be sold at low prices. You can visit this fair from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. Access is free of charge. Throughout the event there will be all kinds of activities, including book presentations. The complete program will be announced in a few days.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Brigada para Leer en Libertad. Save the date to go shopping at the esplanade of the Monumento a la Revolución.
UNAM will also have a book sale
In this book sale you will also find books from $10. It will be held from August 18 to 22 at the Paseo de las Humanidades, in Ciudad Universitaria.
In addition, you will be able to participate in workshops, dance performances and talks. On August 18 you can visit it from 12:00 to 19:00; from August 19 to 21 from 10:00 to 19:00 and on August 22 from 10:00 to 17:00. Access is free of charge.
