To experience this iconic Oaxacan celebration, you won’t need to travel by car, much less by plane. For three days, the Azcapotzalco municipality will offer a taste of what the Guelaguetza festival is all about. If you’ve never had the chance to see this celebration in person, this event is sure to be a great opportunity to do so.
From July 31 to August 2, 2026, Oaxacate will take place—an event featuring dance and music performances, cuisine, and handicrafts from the eight regions of Oaxaca. As if that weren’t enough, there will be a mega-calenda.
The program has not yet been revealed, but we can tell you that the activities will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jardín Hidalgo, located in downtown Azcapotzalco.
It’s worth noting that the Guelaguetza in Azcapotzalco is organized by musicians, dancers, and artists from Oaxacate, a traveling project dedicated to showcasing the culture of the southern state.
