The origins of this property are linked to the Jesuit College of San Ildefonso and to historical figures such as Bishop Ildefonso de la Mota y Escobar, and Alonso de Mata, who served as secretary to Hernán Cortés.
Over the centuries, the territory bordering the Cantarranas area was divided into the estates known as Cristo Grande and Cristo Chico. The property passed through the hands of prominent families, and thanks to the efforts of contemporary owners such as Alicia Fresan Hernández and the Covarrubias Salvatori family, this beautiful historic estate was successfully reunited and restored. Today, it is considered a historic monument from the 16th and 17th centuries.
