On Monday, February 2, the last two stations of this means of transport were inaugurated: Vasco de Quiroga and Observatorio, which means that from that date onwards, service will be provided on the entire route.
From September 2024 until the end of January 2026, the train operated from Zinacantepec to the Santa Fe station. The maximum fare was $60, while the minimum was $15. This was a promotional fare and will change with the full service. What is the fare now?
How much does the Interurban Train charge?
Check out what you’ll pay starting February 2, 2026! The fare for the Mexico Toluca Intercity Train varies depending on the route you take. If you travel only one station (regardless of whether it is in Mexico City or the State of Mexico), the cost of your ticket will be $15.
If you travel 2 or 3 stations in the State of Mexico, the cost will be $20; while if you go from Observatorio to Santa Fe, you will have to pay $25. Regarding longer journeys:
- $60: from Santa Fe or Vasco de Quiroga to Lerma (or vice versa)
- $70: on the Observatorio – Lerma, Vasco de Quiroga – Metepec, and Santa Fe – Metepec routes
- $80: on the routes Observatorio – Metepec, Vasco de Quiroga – Toluca Centro, and Santa Fe – Toluca Centro
- $90: for the routes Observatorio – Toluca Centro, Vasco de Quiroga – Zinacantepec, and Santa Fe – Zinacantepec
- $100: from terminal to terminal (Zinacantepec – Observatorio)
To enter, you can use your integrated mobility card or a QR code, which you can purchase at the station. Don’t throw it away! You will need it during your trip.

So, what are the operating hours for this mode of transport? Official accounts have reported that you can board at the following times:
- Monday to Friday: 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
- Saturdays: it operates from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
- Sundays and holidays: you can board from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Please note: every day, the last train leaves at midnight from Observatorio and at 11:00 PM from Zinacantepec.
