Mark your calendar because we now know when the 2026 Festival of Indigenous Cultures, Peoples, and Native Neighborhoods of Mexico City will take place. It will be held at the capital’s Zócalo and will last a little over two weeks. You’ll have plenty of days to attend.
The twelfth edition of this event will take place in 2026. Each year, various artistic and cultural activities are presented, as well as a fair where you can purchase handicrafts, traditional sweets, and textiles, among other products.
Through these activities, visitors will learn more about Mexico’s rich indigenous culture, as detailed in a call for participation published in the Official Gazette of Mexico City.
When will the 2026 Festival of Indigenous Cultures, Peoples, and Native Neighborhoods of Mexico City take place?
The document states that in 2026, the festival will take place from August 7 to 23 in Mexico City’s Zócalo. You can visit it Monday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
As in previous years, admission will be free, while products will be sold at various prices. Every year, a wide variety of handicrafts and other items are offered; we recommend arriving early so you can see everything that’s on display.
