Chapultepec’s Jardín Escénico will become a major gathering spot to enjoy free performances with the arrival of Jardín Mundial, an initiative that will bring together concerts, theatrical productions, and dance performances in various areas of the park.
The program will kick off with performances ranging from the rhythmic precision of the Tambuco Percussion Ensemble to the iconic choreography of Amalia Hernández’s Ballet Folklórico de México. There will also be outdoor theater, traveling stage performances, and a symphonic concert to close out the week.
One of the main attractions will be the opportunity to explore different corners of the Jardín Escénico while activities designed for audiences of all ages take place. All with free admission.
Folk ballet, theater, and fantastical creatures will take over the Jardín Escénico
The activities will begin on June 10 with a performance by the Tambuco Percussion Ensemble. Subsequently, on June 12 , Ubú Rey will be presented , a production by the Carro de Comedias that will bring its characteristic satirical humor to the Caminos Escénicos.
Most of the program will take place over the weekend . On Saturday, June 13, performances by Las Bestias Danzan will wind through the paths and open spaces of the grounds, while the Ballet Folklórico de México will offer two performances in the Pabellón Escénico featuring mariachi, tradition, and some of the most representative scenes of Mexican culture.
That same day and on Sunday the 14th , Tequila y canción, pal corazón will be presented, a theatrical production inspired by the figure of Lucha Reyes.
The OCBA will close the program with Mexican music
On Sunday, June 14, the Bellas Artes Chamber Orchestra (OCBA) will close out the week with the concert “Mexico Vibrates with the OCBA.” The program will include world premieres and works by Arturo Márquez, one of today’s most renowned Mexican composers.
