Starting October 4, a new version of Jesus Christ Superstar will arrive at theater in CDMX for a short season.
It will be a blockbuster with a multi-star cast. Benny Ibarra, Ximena Sariñana, Alex Lora, María León, and Érick Rubín are some of the stars.
Completing the list are Kalimba, Yahír, and Leonardo de Lozanne.
This musical is a theater classic and has triumphed on stages worldwide, such as Broadway. Its original creator is the award-winning American producer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Although this new Mexican version will have a local and contemporary touch, it will preserve the general lines of the story: how Jesus spent the last week of his life before being crucified, narrated from the point of view of Judas Iscariot.
His disciples, as well as Maria Magdalena, will accompany him.
This musical was presented in our city in 2021. Back then, and to give you an idea of what to expect, the scenery weighed more than 11 tons, divided into 1,125 square meters.
In addition, more than 50 singers, actresses, actors, and dancers will be on stage.
