If this Easter break you want the earth to swallow you up… but spit you out into a true paradise, you’ll definitely want to include this destination in your plans. We’re talking about the Kinjua Springs in the Magical Town of Metztitlán, Hidalgo. Get ready to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in crystal-clear waters that will cut you off from everything!
Located in the town of San Pedro Ayotoxtla, these springs are part of the Metztitlán Biosphere Reserve. It is an ecosystem of ravines, canyons, and a semi-desert climate that will welcome you with beautiful landscapes and the chance to cool off in its turquoise pools. These are not hot springs.
Note: To reach the most scenic areas, you’ll need to hike over uneven terrain; this could be challenging for people with limited mobility, children, or seniors. Once you arrive, you’ll have the option to book a guided tour led by locals.

How much is admission to the Kinjua Springs?
Admission costs $100 per person; please note that this price is set by the site operators and may change without notice. However, there are other services that may incur additional costs, such as food, restroom access, and the camping area. Guided tours also have an extra cost.
Before your visit, please note that:
There are several routes to reach the starting camp: Actopan, Tolantongo (which involves a considerable detour), and Metztitlán. The Actopan route is the most direct; however, it includes a stretch of dirt road that may complicate your arrival. Keep in mind that they charge around $50 to take this route.

The Kinjua Springs are proof that you don’t need to leave the country to find a dreamlike oasis. Unplug from your phone, reconnect with nature, and let yourself be amazed by the turquoise blue of Hidalgo. Who would you like to get lost with in this paradise?
