If you’re looking for something beyond the soccer frenzy, check out “Month of Korea, Culture & More, ” a festival that will blend elements of Korean culture to mark the start of the World Cup.
The activities in Mexico City will take place from June 9 to 21 at various venues, including Chapultepec, the Historic Center, and the Zócalo.
Here is the schedule so you don’t miss a thing:
- Tuesday, June 9 (Chapultepec): At 1:30 p.m., the cultural show begins on the main stage of the Global Village with taekwondo demonstrations (by the K-Tigers) and traditional samulnori music (with The Gwangdae). In addition, the Korean Pavilion will be open from June 9 to 21, where you can try on a hanbok (traditional Korean attire), see traditional products, and learn more about Korean culture.
- Wednesday, June 10 (National Museum of World Cultures): At 1:00 p.m., the Korean Exhibition opens at this museum in the Historic Center, once again featuring live taekwondo and traditional music performances.
- Thursday, June 11 (Zócalo): Starting at 6:00 p.m., the main stage of the FIFA Fan Festival will host martial arts and music shows. Immediately following the performances, the opening match between South Korea and the Czech Republic will be broadcast on the giant screen.
