In the gallery at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana you will find an exhibition with works by Leonora Carrington. In the tour you will learn more about her personal life and artistic career of this painter. The ticket is free, so you’ll have no excuse to miss it.
This exhibition is entitled “The Acoustics of Leonora Carrington. Art, writing and feminisms” and concentrates unpublished embroideries, as well as sculptures, engravings and sketches. You will also see books, letters, photographs and postcards; many of them show the relationship he had with other artists such as Octavio Paz or Elena Poniatowska.
It should be noted that the exhibition touches on different themes such as feminism, surrealism and the avant-garde currents of the 20th century. Among the objectives of the exhibition is to look at Carrington’s works from a contemporary perspective.
